Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been on T.V. since the tender age of nine months. When their mother Jarnie Olsen took young Mary-Kate and Ashley to audition for the new sitcom "Full House" the producers fell in love with these dimpled and smiling faces that would later become America's Favorite Twins. Their childish charm bewitched the admiring eyes of America. Soon "Full House" was known as the "Michelle Show" and the careers of the young actresses soared. At the age of five Mary-Kate and Ashley stared in their first movie "To Grandmother's House We Go." They played the characters of Sarah and Julie, two young girls who run away from home to go the their great-grandma's house, so that their mom can have a break from them. Soon after the premier of "To Grandmother's House We Go" a new movie was made, "Double,Double, Toil and Trouble" was a halloween movie. The young girls soon had two new video series "The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley" and "Your Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley's" while still filming the long-running "Full House." At eight Mary-Kate and Ashley filmed their first PG rated movie "It Takes Two" co-staring with Kirsty Alley. A year later "Full House" was cancelled. And on top of that Mary-Kate and Ashley's parents, Jarnie and David Olsen, divorced. The twins decided to take a break from T.V. Although many thought the Olsens had disapeared for good, they were gladly mistaken. Mary-Kate and Ashley were back three years later to film "Billboard Dad" a movie about two pre-teen girls who are trying to find their dad a date by puting an ad on a billboard. The movie sold over a million copies, Mary-Kate and Ashley were here to stay. "Two of a Kind" was the next project of these twins. This sitcom starring Ashley and Mary-Kate Burke, two girls dealing with teen pressures and totally different personalitys. Mary-Kate plays the sporty and tomboyish, Mary-Kate Burke, while Ashley plays the prissy and boy-crazy, Ashley Burke. "Two of a Kind" failed to capture the audiences that "Full House" got and was cancelled after one season of filming. Mary-Kate and Ashley moved on to bigger and better things. In 1999, "Passport to Paris" was filmed, followed soon after with "Switching Goals." In 2000, "Our Lips Are Sealed" was filmed in Sidney, Australia. And "Winning London" is to be released in March, 2001. The girl are currently filming a new sitcom intitled "So Little Time." This new sitcom will be airing next season. The plot is about two girls dealing with two very different parents. The dad is living in a trailor by the beach and the mom is hitting the runway with the latest fashions as a fashion designor. Mary-Kate is like her dad in many ways, while Ashley is like her mom. There are even rumers of Ashley getting a boyfriend. Keep checking back for the latest. | |
